Kelly Brothers is recruiting a MIG Welder for our premises at Virginia, Co Cavan, Ireland, D02X658. The salary range starts from €34,000 (€16.77/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required.
Our company specializes in manufacturing components and road marking equipment, including truck builds, machinery repairs, and bespoke projects. The MIG Welder will be responsible for fabricating and welding parts using steel, aluminium, and other materials, supporting our manufacturing operations. The role entails operating machinery such as cutting tools, grinders, forklifts, and building or modifying vehicles and equipment related to road marking and manufacturing processes.
In this position, you will work in a well-equipped factory environment with state-of-the-art welding and fabrication tools. The work involves detailed welding to high standards, ensuring all components meet safety and quality regulations. The role may require periodic travel to site locations for equipment repairs or installation, though most work will be based at the Virginia premises. The shift pattern is standard hours, with potential overtime depending on project demands. Training will be provided on specific company machinery and safety protocols. **Responsibilities:**
- Fabricate components using steel, aluminium, and other materials based on project specifications.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding to exacting standards, ensuring durability and safety.
- Operate machinery including cutting tools, grinders, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Build, modify, and repair road marking vehicles and manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on machinery to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop practical fabrication solutions.
- Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, time, and materials used.
- Participate in regular safety briefings and training sessions.
- Assist in new project setups and modifications as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing procedures.
**Key Requirements:**
- Valid Safe Pass Certificate (not mandatory but preferred).
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Proven experience in MIG welding and fabrication, minimum 2 years preferred.
- Good knowledge of welding safety standards and regulations.
- Physically fit and capable of manual work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime.
- Good communication skills in English.
