Steel Erector

Construction Demo is recruiting a Steel Erector for our premises at 19 Lower Baggot Street, Monkstown, Ireland. The salary range starts from €70,000 (€33.65/hr) based on a 40-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. As a Steel Erector, you will be central to our construction projects, responsible for assembling and installing steel frameworks that form the backbone of our building structures. Your daily activities will include reading blueprints, measuring and marking steel components, welding and bolting structural elements together securely. The work environment is primarily on-site at various construction locations, often outdoors, requiring adaptability to weather conditions and safety protocols. You will use specialized equipment such as cranes, lifts, welding tools, and hand-held power tools. This role involves traveling to multiple sites within the region, often requiring coordination with project managers and other construction personnel. Typical shifts are scheduled during standard working hours, but overtime may be required to meet project deadlines. Comprehensive safety training will be provided, ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment. Opportunities for training and career progression are available, with potential to move into supervisory or specialized roles with additional experience. **Responsibilities:** - Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and project plans. - Measure, cut, weld, and bolt steel components accurately. - Operate cranes, lifts, and other heavy machinery safely. - Secure steel structures to foundations, ensuring stability and compliance. - Conduct quality checks and ensure all installations meet safety standards. - Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used. - Collaborate with other trades and construction teams on-site. - Support in the implementation of health and safety procedures. - Handle necessary equipment setup and dismantling. - Carry out routine inspections of tools and equipment. - Maintain a clean and safe working environment. **Key Requirements:** - Valid CSCS or CPCS card and appropriate construction safety certifications. - Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Steel Erector or similar role. - Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings. - Strong knowledge of welding, bolting, and mechanical fastening techniques. - Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions. - Good physical fitness and manual dexterity. - Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude. - Flexibility to work overtime and at varying sites. - Valid driving license, preferably with HGV category C. **Additional Information:** - Overtime rates apply and may be compensated accordingly. - Weekend and night work may be required depending on project schedules. - Benefits include safety gear, protective clothing, and opportunities for ongoing professional development. - Supportive team environment with a focus on safety and quality.
