Construction Demo is recruiting a Plumber for our premises at 19 Lower Baggot Street, Cork, Ireland. We are seeking a skilled plumbing professional to join our team and contribute to various construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. The salary range starts from €70,000 (€33.85/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be higher depending on experience and specialization, and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. The Plumber role involves detailed work installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems that supply water, gas, and waste disposal solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Daily activities include reading technical diagrams, fitting pipes, sealing joints, testing systems for leaks, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards. Work environments vary from new construction sites to existing buildings undergoing renovations, often requiring adaptability to different conditions. Plumbers typically use a variety of equipment such as pipe wrenches, soldering torches, and drain cameras to complete tasks efficiently. Depending on the project, travel to different sites within Cork and surrounding areas may be necessary. Work shifts are generally weekday hours, but occasional overtime and weekend work may be required for project deadlines or emergency repairs. Our company provides ongoing training in the latest plumbing techniques and safety protocols, fostering professional growth and career progression. **Responsibilities:** - Install new plumbing systems in new construction and renovation projects. - Interpret technical diagrams and blueprints to accurately execute installations. - Maintain, inspect, and repair existing plumbing infrastructure. - Troubleshoot plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs promptly. - Conduct leak detection and water pressure testing to ensure system integrity. - Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Document work activities, inspections, and repairs clearly. - Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other trades. - Use specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively. - Ensure all installations meet relevant standards and building codes. - Assist in training apprentices and junior staff as needed. - Respond to emergency plumbing situations outside regular hours when necessary. **Key Requirements:** - Valid plumbing license or certification recognized in Ireland. - Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial and residential plumbing installations. - Strong knowledge of water, gas, and waste pipe systems, including renewable energy plumbing solutions. - Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics. - Familiarity with Irish building and safety regulations, including the National Standards. - Excellent manual dexterity and physical fitness to work in confined spaces and at heights. - Good communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team. - Valid driver’s license to travel between sites. - Experience with modern plumbing technology and sustainable systems is a plus. - Compliance with health and safety certifications such as CSCS or Safe Pass. **Additional Information:** - Overtime rates are applicable for work beyond standard hours. - Flexibility to work evenings or weekends in response to project needs. - Benefits include health insurance options, ongoing training, and career development opportunities. - Opportunities for promotion to supervisory or specialist roles.
