Kilsaran Precast is recruiting a Steel Fixer for ourpremises at Arthurstown, Kill, Co. Kildare.
The salary range starts from €34,000 (€16.77/hr) based on a 39-hour week.Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately ifadditional hours are required.
The role involves reading and understanding steel fixing drawings and bendingschedules, cutting, bending, and installing steel reinforcement materials tospecifications. The Steel Fixer will play a vital role in ensuring that rebarand reinforcement work is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently,contributing to the structural integrity of our construction projects. The workenvironment is primarily on-site at various construction sites requiring manuallabor and adherence to health and safety standards. Equipment used includeshand tools, bending machines, cutting torches, and safety gear. Occasionaltravel to different sites may be required, sometimes involving overnight stays.The position may involve work in various weather conditions, with safety andproper handling of materials prioritized. We provide comprehensive training onsafety procedures, reading technical drawings, and correct installationtechniques, ensuring new employees are well prepared. There are prospects forcareer progression into supervisory roles or specialized trades, depending onexperience and performance. The successful candidate will be responsible forreading and understanding detailed steel fixing drawings, interpreting bendingschedules, cutting and bending steel reinforcement to specifications, andsecuring steelwork in position. Other duties include checking materials forquality, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with other tradesmen tocomplete projects on time. Key responsibilities include ensuring loads are properlysecured, performing routine maintenance on tools,keeping accurate records ofwork carried out, and adhering to safety protocols at all times. The rolerequires prior experience in steel fixing or reinforcement work, with a validSafe Pass being desirable but not mandatory. Ability to work independently andas part of a team is essential, along with good physical fitness for manualhandling and working outdoors. Candidates must have good problem-solvingskills, be attentive to detail, and demonstrate reliability and punctuality.Additional qualifications such as CSCS or manual handling certification areadvantageous but not essential. Overtime may be available and payable atincreased rates, with additional allowance given for weekend or night work ifapplicable.
