Kilkenny Cooling Systems is recruiting a TIG Welder for our premises at Hebron Road, Kilkenny. The role involves performing high-quality welding on stainless steel sheet metal with thicknesses of 0.9, 1.2, and 1.5mm. This position requires excellent craftsmanship and precision, as the welder will be responsible for producing clean, durable welds that meet industry standards. Working indoors in a heated factory environment, the successful candidate will utilize TIG welding techniques, work with tools such as CNC brake presses, and interpret technical drawings. The work environment is well-equipped, safe, and designed to support productivity. No site work or travel is involved in this role, allowing focus on manufacturing processes. The salary range starts from €34,476 (€17.72/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be higher depending on experience and additional skills. The position offers a stable income with a possibility of increase through skill development and experience.
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel sheet metal to produce high-quality finishes
- Operate and set up Guilloene and CNC brake press machines
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during all welding activities
- Conduct quality checks on welded components and rectify issues
- Keep equipment and work area clean and organized
- Troubleshoot minor welding equipment problems
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines
- Follow health and safety regulations and standards
**Key Requirements:**
- Safe Pass certificate required
- Manual Handling training preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of TIG welding techniques and stainless steel properties
- Preferably qualified in TIG welding or metal fabrication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with technical drawings and specifications
- Physical fitness to handle welding tasks
- Reliable and punctual with good communication skills
