George Corbett Motors is recruiting a Body & Paint Technician for our premises at Cork Road, Waterford. The salary range starts from €34,000 (€16.77/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionally if additional hours are required. As a Body & Paint Technician, your primary responsibility will be preparing vehicles for customer handover and ensuring our car dealership environment reflects the quality and professionalism of our brands. You will be involved in cleaning and polishing both the interior and exterior of vehicles, using specialised equipment and cleaning agents. Restoring shine through polishing and waxing, maintaining wheels, tires, and rims, and conducting thorough inspections before vehicle handover are essential parts of your role. The work environment is a busy automotive dealership that values attention to detail, quality workmanship, and safety. You will use professional paint booths, polishing tools, and diagnostic equipment to ensure each vehicle meets our high standards. Work hours will typically be Monday to Friday, with potential occasional weekend work depending on business needs. Training will be provided on specific tools and safety procedures, with opportunities for career advancement within the service department. **Responsibilities:** - Prepare vehicles for customer handover by cleaning, polishing, and detailing. - Use specialised tools to restore exterior paint and finish. - Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles for quality assurance. - Maintain a safe and clean workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored. - Ensure all vehicles meet showroom standards before delivery. - Assist with minor body repairs if trained and qualified. - Maintain accurate records of work performed. - Comply with health and safety regulations at all times. - Collaborate with other team members to enhance workflow efficiency. - Support dealership operations during busy periods and special events. **Key Requirements:** - Valid driving license (Category B or equivalent) with a clean, in-date record. - No specific formal qualifications required, but previous experience in vehicle detailing or bodywork is preferred. - Knowledge of vehicle paint systems and polishing techniques. - Ability to work efficiently and pay close attention to detail. - Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. - Ability to lift and manoeuvre vehicle parts and equipment safely. - Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment. - Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training programs. - Flexible approach with the ability to work weekends or additional hours if needed. **Additional Information:** - Overtime may be available and paid at standard rates. - No night shift work is currently scheduled. - Benefits include housing assistance, company training, and safe working conditions. - Opportunities for progression within our dealership. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and skills enhancement. **Published Date:** 2026-01-05
