A leading company in Engineering is recruiting Wind Turbine Technicians for our premises at 123 Northumberland Row, Ballinlough, Dublin 4. The salary range starts from €25,769 (€13.40/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Your daily duties will include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, replacing faulty components, and performing preventative maintenance. You will work in a dynamic outdoor environment, often at heights, using specialized tools and equipment. The role involves working on-site at wind farms, sometimes requiring travel to different locations across Ireland or nearby regions. Shift patterns may include early mornings, evenings, or weekend work to minimize turbine downtime. Our company provides comprehensive training on specialized turbine systems, safety procedures, and new technologies. Responsibilities include: - Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on wind turbines. - Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and environmental standards. - Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities, parts replaced, and issues encountered. - Managing emergency repairs to minimize turbine downtime. - Assisting in installation and commissioning of new turbines. - Participating in safety drills and safety audits. - Collaborating with project managers and engineers to plan maintenance schedules. - Operating diagnostic tools and software to monitor turbine performance. - Adhering to all health and safety protocols in a demanding outdoor environment. - Providing feedback for continuous improvement of operational procedures. - Supporting environmental sustainability initiatives at wind farm sites. - Ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. - Assisting in inventory management of spare parts and tools. - Conducting safety checks prior to work and reviewing operational procedures. Key Requirements: - Valid Safe Pass certificate (mandatory) - Experience working with wind turbines or similar high-voltage mechanical equipment (preferred) - Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems - Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions - Good problem-solving skills and technical troubleshooting ability - Effective communication skills with team members and clients - Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed - Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks - Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics - Basic computer skills and familiarity with diagnostic software - Safety-focused attitude with attention to detail - Valid driving license for travel between sites Additional Information: Overtime rates apply for hours worked beyond standard weekly hours.
