Kilkenny Cooling Systems is recruiting a skilled MIG Welder for our premises at Hebron Road, Kilkenny, Ireland. This opportunity is ideal for experienced welders eager to join a reputable manufacturing company. The salary range starts from €34,476 (€17.70/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required.
The MIG Welder position is pivotal to our manufacturing processes, primarily involving welding mild steel profiles such as angles and boxes of various thicknesses. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the highest quality standards in welded components, adhering to safety and quality protocols. The work environment is workshop-based, equipped with modern welding stations and fabrication tools. The role offers a dynamic setting where precision and expert skill are essential. Travel is minimal, mainly for site visits if required, but most work occurs onsite at our Kilkenny facility. Training will be provided to enhance welding techniques and safety practices. Career progression paths include senior welding roles, supervisory positions, and further specialization in pipe welding and CNC operations.
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel profiles including angles and boxes.
- Use equipment such as Guillotine and CNC brake press for fabrication tasks.
- Read and interpret detailed drawings to execute precise welds.
- Maintain and operate welding and fabrication machinery efficiently.
- Ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards.
- Keep work area clean and organized, following safety protocols.
- Conduct routine checks on welding equipment and report issues.
- Assist in training junior staff and apprentices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of welding processes.
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records.
**Key Requirements:**
- Proven experience of at least 2 years in MIG welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Safe Pass certification required, without additional specific licenses.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings is advantageous.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently with initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to welding and fabrication.
- Manual handling and safety awareness must be maintained per company policy.
