Kelly Brothers is recruiting a Fabricator Welder for our premises at Bailieborough Road, Virginia.
The salary range starts from €34,000 (€16.77/hr) based on a 40-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required.
Our company specializes in manufacturing and road marking equipment, and we are seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating components using steel, aluminium, and other materials, performing MIG and TIG welding to high standards, and operating machinery such as cutting tools, grinders, and forklifts. Work will involve building and modifying road marking vehicles and equipment, as well as repairing and maintaining machinery to minimize downtime. You will work closely with engineering and road marking teams to develop practical solutions while adhering to safety and quality standards.
This role involves a hands-on approach in a manufacturing environment that emphasizes precision and safety. Equipment used includes welding machines, cutting tools, grinders, and forklifts, with safety gear provided. The work location is in Virginia, Ireland, with some travel possible for installation or maintenance tasks.
The working environment is predominantly workshop-based, with occasional site visits. The role may involve shift patterns including standard daytime hours, with occasional overtime and weekend work as required. Training on specific equipment and safety procedures will be provided, and there are opportunities for career progression within the company.
**Responsibilities:**
- Fabricate components using steel, aluminium, and other materials according to project specifications.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding to high standards.
- Operate machinery such as cutting tools, grinders, and forklifts efficiently.
- Build and modify road marking vehicles and related equipment.
- Modify and build manufacturing plant components involving liquids, powders, and other materials.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on manufacturing and road marking equipment to minimize operational downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and trade teams to develop and implement practical solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
- Keep accurate documentation of work performed, machinery maintenance, and parts used.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues with machinery and equipment.
- Participate in training programs to improve skills and certifications.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including manual handling and safe welding practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety.
- Assist in new project setups and ongoing manufacturing processes.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety, quality, and attendance.
**Key Requirements:**
- Valid Safe Pass certification.
- Proven experience as a fabricator and welder in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Valid current welding certifications in MIG and TIG.
- Experience with vehicle bodywork, truck builds, and hydraulic systems.
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with fabrication tools and machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition suitable for manual handling.
- Strong communication skills.
- Manual Handling certification will be provided.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends.
