The salary range starts from €42,685 (€20.63/hr) based on a 40-hour week. Salary may be higher depending on experience, with increases proportionate to additional hours worked. This role involves working on-site, with potential for overtime or weekend work as needed, and adheres strictly to health and safety regulations including Safe Pass, CSCS, and manual handling standards.
**Main Purpose and Daily Activities:** As a Carpenter, your primary responsibility is executing high-quality carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, installing fixtures, and finishing works. You will interpret blueprints, measure and cut materials accurately, and ensure structural integrity. Your work may involve constructing timber frames, installing windows and doors, and completing detailed interior joinery including kitchens and staircases. The role demands attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
**Work Environment and Conditions:** You will be working on construction sites across Cork, often outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions. Site safety is a priority; therefore, safety gear such as helmets, gloves, and harnesses are mandatory. Equipment used includes saws, drills, levels, and scaffolding. Some tasks may require working at heights or lifting heavy materials.
**Travel Requirements:** Minimal travel is required; work is primarily based at established sites within the Cork area.
**Shift Patterns:** Typically standard hours (40/week), with potential for overtime, weekend work, or evening shifts depending on project timelines.

**Responsibilities:**
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Construct timber frames, roofs, and floors
- Install windows, doors, and internal fixtures

**Key Requirements:**
- Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications
- At least 2 years’ experience in carpentry
- Knowledge of building regulations and safety standards
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Ability to work safely at heights and with power tools
- Good physical fitness and manual dexterity
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- RGI or other relevant trade registration (preferred but not mandatory)
