Job Description
Gortnavogue Ltd is recruiting a dedicated Automotive Technician for our premises at Barleymount, Killarney, Ireland. The salary range starts from €34,000 (€17.44/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required.
As an Automotive Technician specializing in golf machinery, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of golf equipment. Your primary responsibilities include diagnosing faults, conducting routine servicing, and repairing various golf machinery components to ensure optimal performance. The work environment is a well-equipped workshop that utilizes modern diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and calibration equipment. Attention to detail and safety are critical, with adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
The role may require occasional travel to different golf courses or client sites for on-site repairs or inspections. Shift patterns are primarily daytime, but flexible hours may be necessary during busy periods. Comprehensive training will be provided on specific equipment and repair techniques, as well as safety procedures. Responsibilities
- Service and repair golf machinery, including engine diagnostics and component replacement.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, and calibration.
- Perform vehicle checks and routine diagnostics using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
- Respond promptly to service requests, both in the workshop and on-site.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, including safe handling of equipment and chemicals.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of spare parts.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
Requirements
- Valid car driver’s license (Class B) and willingness to travel.
- Trade/Apprenticeship Qualification or equivalent experience as a mechanic.
- Basic knowledge of automotive electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Experience in servicing small engines or similar machinery preferred.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
- Physical fitness for manual handling and working in confined spaces.
- Compliance with regulatory standards such as Safe Pass and Manual Handling.
