Kilsaran Precast is recruiting a Maintenance Facilites Fitter for our premises at Arthurstown, Kill, Co. Kildare. The role offers an excellent opportunity to join a reputable engineering company focused on manufacturing and construction components. The salary range starts from €34,000 (€16.77/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may increase with experience and additional hours worked, and will be proportionate if overtime is required.
The Maintenance Facilites Fitter will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and functioning of our factory and site equipment. This role involves inspecting machinery, performing routine diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and conducting repairs to prevent breakdowns. You will be integral to maintaining a safe, efficient working environment, adhering to all safety standards and regulations. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, primarily indoors with periodic outdoor inspections. Familiarity with industrial tools and mechanical systems is essential.
Work may involve some travel to supplier sites or different company locations, but most of the work is onsite at Arthurstown. Shift patterns follow standard weekly hours, with possibilities for overtime, which may be compensated accordingly. Training on specific machinery or safety procedures will be provided, and there are ample opportunities for career progression within the company.
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural faults quickly and effectively.
- Follow detailed technical manuals and blueprints to conduct repairs.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and issues identified.
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards and legal requirements.
- Assist in installing new machinery and upgrading existing systems.
- Conduct inspections and safety audits of premises and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding maintenance schedules.
- Handle emergency repairs outside normal working hours as required.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at efficiency and safety.
**Key Requirements:**
- Valid Manual Handling Certification.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit for manual handling tasks.
- Flexibility to work additional hours or shifts when necessary.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with hand and power tools.
