ROSS Engineering is recruiting a Welder for our premises at Unit 10 Trinity Court, Fonthill Road, Dublin. The salary range starts from €40,000 (€16.77/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. A welder at ROSS Engineering plays a vital role in our manufacturing and engineering processes by joining metal parts and structures with high precision and safety compliance. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, setting up welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and arc welders, and inspecting finished welds to ensure they meet industry quality standards. The work environment is primarily in our workshop, equipped with state-of-the-art welding machinery and safety equipment. Occasionally, site work or on-site fabrication projects may require travel or on-location tasks. The role includes working standard shifts, with training provided in latest welding techniques, safety procedures, and industry best practices. Responsibilities include: - Preparing materials and work areas in accordance with project specifications. - Performing various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and arc welding to join metal components. - Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints accurately. - Inspecting welds for quality, strength, and compliance with safety standards. - Maintaining and calibrating welding equipment to ensure safety and efficiency. - Assisting in fabricating and assembling components for manufacturing processes. - Ensuring all work adheres to health and safety regulations and workplace safety standards. - Keeping detailed records of work performed, inspections, and maintenance. - Collaborating with engineers and supervisors to meet production deadlines. - Participating in safety trainings and Continuous Professional Development courses. - Handling manual and powered tools to prepare and weld materials efficiently. Key requirements: - Valid QQI Level 5 Certificate in Welding or equivalent vocational qualification. - Practical experience in welding and fabrication industry. - Certification in specific welding methods such as EN ISO 9606-1 is desirable. - Good understanding of health and safety regulations in manufacturing environments. - Manual dexterity, steady hand, and attention to detail. - Basic math skills and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy materials. - Flexibility to work overtime or extra shifts when required. - Awareness of environmental regulations related to waste and emissions.
