Brophy Produce Ltd requires multiple Tractor Driver roles for their premises at Woodside, Newlands, Naas, Kildare, W91 A4WP.

The salary range starts from €36,605 (17.60/hr) to €42,000 (20.19/hr) based on a 40-hour week. Salary will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. Salary offered shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Job Description: Brophy Produce LTD seeks a skilled Tractor Driver to operate modern, high-horsepower tractors and heavy agricultural machinery within a large-scale horticultural operation based in Naas, Co. Kildare. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, requiring operation and calibration of GPS precision farming systems (autosteer, mapping), execution of field tasks (tilling, drilling, planting, spraying, fertilising, harvesting), daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance and minor repairs, and strict adherence to health and safety and road movement regulations. The role demands physical stamina, flexibility for seasonal peak hours, attention to precision data recording, and the ability to minimise downtime by troubleshooting minor mechanical or digital issues. Ongoing training and occasional farm visits abroad are provided.

Responsibilities: Operate high-horsepower tractors and specialized agricultural machinery including variable rate fertilizer spreaders, planters and self-propelled sprayers. Program, calibrate and operate GPS tracking systems and autosteer for precise planting, spraying, camera weeding and fertilizer application. Carry out seasonal field operations: tilling, discing, drilling, planting and harvesting according to schedules. Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on all assigned machinery. Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical faults and address GPS/software glitches to reduce downtime. Maintain accurate field records and ensure precision mapping data is uploaded to the farm management system. Ensure compliance with farm safety protocols and legal requirements when moving wide loads or heavy machinery on public roads. Participate in ongoing training and occasional farm visits abroad to stay current with precision agriculture technologies.

Requirements: Essential: Minimum 3+ years experience operating modern tractors and farm machinery; proven proficiency with GPS precision farming technology (preferably Trimble OS); valid driver's license with a clean record; relevant heavy/agricultural vehicle endorsements or certifications preferred; good mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic field repairs and routine servicing; excellent physical stamina and willingness to work long, flexible hours during peak planting and harvest windows; reliable, safety-focused work ethic and accurate record-keeping skills. Desirable: Technical certification or degree in Agriculture or Precision Farming; valid pesticide application license (PU number); experience with farm management software and precision mapping data workflows.
