Gerry Caffrey Motors Ltd is recruiting a Motor Vehicle Technician for our premises at 106, 112 Terenure Rd N, Terenure, Dublin. The salary range starts from €34,000 (€17.44/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary may be more based on experience and will increase proportionately if additional hours are required.
A Motor Vehicle Technician plays a vital role within our automotive service team. In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. The role involves working in a well-equipped workshop with the latest diagnostic tools and equipment, focusing on both electrical and mechanical fault detection and resolution. You will perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid checks. The technician will be expected to replace worn parts, conduct thorough safety inspections, and document all work accurately. The work environment is fast-paced but safety-focused, with an emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction.
The technician will also collaborate with colleagues to meet workshop deadlines and deliver excellent service. Some travel within Dublin may be required for off-site diagnostics or appointments. Shift patterns generally follow standard daytime hours, but flexibility may be needed for urgent repairs.

**Responsibilities:**
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.

- Repair or replace worn or faulty parts with precision and care.
- Clean and valet vehicles as required to maintain high standards.

**Key Requirements:**
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar automotive role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical fitness and dexterity for manual tasks.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekend work.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Knowledge of Irish and EU vehicle safety regulations.
- Basic IT skills for diagnostic software and record keeping.
