Groundworker

Alan Mulligan Contracts Limited t/a Mulligan Fencing requires multiple Groundworker roles for their premises at Meadstown, Dunderry, Navan, C15EP60.

The salary range starts from €36,605 (18.05/hr) to €54,000 (26.63/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. Salary offered shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Groundworker to join a construction team in Ireland. The role involves general ground preparation, excavation and digging, plus preparation and pouring of concrete and screed foundations. The successful candidate will be physically fit, practical and able to work outdoors on construction sites, follow site drawings and safety procedures, and work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience operating a digger or excavator is desirable but not essential. The role is site based and requires adherence to all site health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities: Prepare and level ground for construction and foundation works. Carry out excavation, digging and general groundworks. Prepare ground and work areas prior to pouring concrete and screed. Mix, prepare and pour concrete foundations to specification. Prepare and lay screed surfaces. Measure, set out and check levels and dimensions accurately. Compact and prepare soil, hardcore and other ground materials. Use hand tools, power tools and groundworking equipment safely and effectively. Operate a digger, mini digger or excavator where required and where appropriately trained. Assist with movement, loading and unloading of construction materials. Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas. Follow site drawings, instructions and specifications. Comply with all relevant health and safety procedures and site requirements. Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects to required standards and within agreed timescales.

Requirements: Previous experience in groundworks, construction or a similar role. Experience preparing ground for concrete or screed works is desirable. Practical experience with mixing and pouring concrete desirable. Knowledge of excavation, ground preparation and levelling techniques. Ability to accurately measure, set out and check levels. Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods in varying weather and ground conditions. Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools. Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to follow instructions, drawings and site specifications. Good communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, punctual and safety conscious. Previous digger/excavator driving experience and relevant construction, groundworks or plant machinery qualifications would be advantageous.
