**Job Description:**
This position involves a variety of tasks related to carpentry on active construction sites. The main purpose is to carry out precise and safe carpentry works in compliance with project specifications and Irish safety regulations. Daily activities include reading and interpreting technical drawings, measuring and cutting materials, constructing timber frameworks, installing windows and doors, fitting kitchens and wardrobes, and performing detailed finishing work. The work environment is fast-paced, physically demanding, and requires attention to detail and safety.
Candidates will work with a range of hand and power tools, ensuring all equipment is maintained and used safely. The role may involve travelling between multiple sites across Ireland, requiring a valid Irish driving license and access to transportation. Work shifts are typically on a standard 40-hour week, but occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines. Training sessions are provided regularly, and there are opportunities for career progression into supervisory roles and specialized trades within the company.
**Responsibilities:**
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastics, and other building materials.
- Construct timber frames, walls, roofs, floors, and partitions.
- Install window frames, door frames, and internal fitting components.
- Fabricate and install bespoke joinery, including kitchens, wardrobes, and staircases.
- Maintain building safety, including proper use of safety gear and adherence to Irish safety standards.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other trades and site management to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Troubleshoot on-site issues and problem-solve effectively.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring safety compliance.
- Attend site meetings and training sessions to stay updated on safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Support the team in maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
**Key Requirements:**
- Fully qualified Carpenter with relevant trade certificates (e.g., FETAC/QQI Level 6 or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience in multi-faceted carpentry roles.
- Valid Safe Pass certification and CSCS card.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent practical skills and attention to detail.
- Full clean Irish driving license.
- Capable of working physically demanding shifts, including lifting and manual handling.
- Flexible attitude to working hours, including overtime and weekend work.
