What is EPOS?
EPOS (Employment Permits Online System) is the Irish government's portal for applying for, managing, and renewing employment permits. All permit applications must be submitted through this system.
Who Needs to Register?
Employers
Every Irish employer who wants to hire non-EEA workers must register on EPOS before applying for permits.
Employees
Candidates also register on EPOS to provide their details for permit applications.
Employer Registration Process
Step 1: Access EPOS
Visit epos.enterprise.gov.ie and click Register as Employer.
Step 2: Company Information
Enter your company details:
- Company name (as registered)
- CRO number (Company Registration Office)
- Revenue registration number
- Registered address
- Trading address (if different)
Step 3: Contact Person
Designate an authorised contact:
- Full name
- Position/title
- Direct phone number
- Email address
This person will manage permit applications and receive all correspondence.
Step 4: Verification
The system may verify:
- CRO number validity
- Tax clearance status
- Company trading status
Step 5: Account Activation
- Receive confirmation email
- Set your password
- Log in to access the system

Step 1: Select Permit Type
Choose from:
- Critical Skills Employment Permit
- General Employment Permit
- Intra-Company Transfer
- Contract for Services
Step 2: Enter Employee Details
The candidate must already be registered on EPOS. Enter:
- Employee EPOS registration number
- Or invite them to register
Step 3: Job Information
Provide:
- Job title
- Job description
- Working hours
- Salary details
- Start date
Step 4: Upload Documents
Required documents vary by permit type:
- Employment contract
- Qualifications
- LMNT evidence (GEP)
- Tax clearance
Step 5: Pay Fee
- Online card payment
- Fees vary by permit type
- Non-refundable application fee
Step 6: Submit
- Review all information
- Confirm accuracy
- Submit application
- Receive reference number

After submission:
- Login to EPOS dashboard
- View application status
- Respond to information requests
- Receive decision notifications
Status Types
- Submitted – Received, awaiting review

Common Registration Issues
CRO Number Not Found
