Body & Paint Technician

George Corbett Motors requires multiple Body & Paint Technician roles for their premises at Cork Rd, Ballynaneashagh, Waterford,, Waterford, X91 H306.

The salary range starts from €36,605 (18.05/hr) to €54,000 (26.63/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. Salary offered shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Job Description: The successful candidate will prepare vehicles for customers and ensure the forecourt is maintained to high standards that reflect the quality and professionalism of the brand. Duties include cleaning and valeting vehicles to a customer-ready standard, performing basic vehicle checks (fluids, tyre pressures), refuelling and moving vehicles around the site, and assisting with vehicle handovers. The role is customer-facing and requires attention to detail, good time management and adherence to health and safety and site procedures.

Responsibilities: Preparing cars for hand over to sales and aftersales customers. Cleaning and polishing both the interior and exterior of the vehicle using specialised tools, cleaning agents, and techniques to ensure a thorough cleaning. Polishing and waxing the exterior of vehicles to restore shine and protect the paint. Cleaning and shining wheels, tires, and rims. Ensuring vehicles are maintained to showroom standards. Inspect vehicles thoroughly before handover is complete. Ensure workspace is tidy, clean, organised and maintain appropriate stock level of cleaning materials.

Requirements: No formal academic qualifications required. Essential: valid driving licence (category appropriate for company vehicles), good communication and customer service skills, physical fitness and ability to work on feet and handle cleaning equipment, attention to detail and pride in presentation, willingness to follow procedures and health and safety guidance. Desirable: previous valeting, forecourt or motor retail experience, basic awareness of vehicle systems and routine checks, ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
